Best way to launch on slicks with a stick
what would you guys say is the best way to launch?
i dont really like the idea of firing the clutch at 3000 or so..
look at this guy.. looks like he drops the clutch, and stands on the brake.. then just keeps it idled up and releases the brake when the tree goes green..

What up Clayton. Ive ran slicks(not DRs)If they are actual slicks, I dumped it on the rev limiter and it dead hooked. It will be ok if you do it a few times. I would not do it everyday, but a few times will be ok.

ORIGINAL: 86 5.0L
rev it to 6K and dump it
if something breaks, then it means your not ready for slicks

I've launched at 5500 for about 30 passes so far and no signs of slipping on my clutch yet. 2nd gear is definitly starting to show abuse though from power shift. It grinds every time I power shift to second now but it still goes into gear.
