As long as you keep the rpms down, MPG wont change.

Exaclty. Some folks have been known to slightly gain MPG, sue to less strain on the engine to get the car going, but I would say that this is a 1 in a 10,000 chance.

Don't worry about the gear change, just do it. Unless you drive like the X man, you won't have to lose any sleep over the gas mileage change, which is really negligible if you just don't jack rabbit start it at every stop light and rev it to the red line before you shift it. under light acceleration, the lower gears will actually get you up into the higher tranny gears sooner which will save you gas not cost you gas. don't go through the rest of your life kicking yourself in the *** for not getting the 3.73's! u know, u should talk to (90LX50). He's going through a 3.55 to 3.73 swap. Ask him what his MPG's are. He said that the 3.55's are kinda bogus and he should have got 3.73's to begin with. Im going for 3.73's....like Micheal Jordan said " Just Do It".

Damn, I take back everything I've already said about your gears! LEARN TO DRIVE FIRST, then worry about gears! LOL
Way too many young guys just learning to drive are losing it and wrapping the car around telephone poles, so keep the stock ones until you get accustomed to driving safely first, then worry about hot rodding it some more.
