Default Chrome intake pipe ???

I came up with a chrome intake pipe for a mustang(between the mass air and tb). It seems smaller than the stock one. It fits inside my t-body. So that would seem like a hp loss to me. Does everyone elses pipe the same way?

How can it go around it if it is metal. The rubber pieces on each end is suppose to go around it. I am just wondering if all the pipes are the same size and they are suppose to be that size. If they are seems like a bottle neck to me.
