Heads or S/C

Heads or S/C
Well, I finally graduated high school two days ago. I'll be working full time againthis summer at the shopand I got a good amount of money for graduation anda laptop (tweecer rt is in my future ). I'm trying to decide between a set of heads or a Novi 1000. I'd like to do the heads first because they are cheaper and will offer about the same amount of power as a blower will at 5-6 psi. But if I can find a good deal on a centri s/c I'd take that also. Throw some suggestions out there guys!

RE: Heads or S/C
A lot of people will say to get a set of heads because it's cheaper, stock ones are too restrictive, etc. A lot of people will also say to get the s/c because it has the potential to produce some higher numbers, etc.
The truth is they are both good options. Personally, I liked the S/C option better because it's a bit more unique. I think it looks better, sounds better, and performs better. I love the feelnig when that boost kicks in. And the supercharger gives me the ability to run methanol injection to boost the timing without detonation.
But either way, there are good arguments for both sides. Why not just get some cheap GT40 heads from an Explorer ($200 or so) and then geta blower?

Aset of gt40 or gt40p heads are definentally an option. But my parents really don't want me spending a whole bunch of money on my car since I'll be leaving for college this fall.So I was just going to pick either the aluminum heads or the blower, and that would be it for big spending this summer. I'd loveto go with a set of gt40 or gt40p heads but I'm looking for a bigger SOTP gain and some weight reduction with aluminum heads.

How about this? What are you looking to spend? I bet that if the dollar amount is reasonable, someone will be able to find a setup for you that's within range.
Just some things to think about... if you're still using the stock fuel system, you're probably going to need larger injectors and a larger fuel pump so don't forget to factor that into your cost.
What are your current mods? There amy be some other cheap stuff you can do for the SOTP feeling. If you are 100% stock (I doubt it but you never know) you can get 4.10s, add 4 degrees of base timing, and pull teh air silencer.

I'd prefer to go h/c/i first, but you should do an h/c/ui to support your future mods..
kinda like how im going to be running 180cc heads on my stock block... but they will match my new shortblock better, and my power adder.

Let me find my mods list. The price really depends, if I can find a set of reasonably priced used aluminum heads right now I'd give anywhere from 0-800 dollars for them depending on what they are.
