Have you actually taken out the h/l switch to look at the wiring/connector on the back of it. They do have contact problems that melt and cause failure.

If youre running foglights with the headlights yea. I kept having that problem so i ditched the fogs. Problem solved. Thing is Ford used the wrong gauge wire on the fogs (i think it was the fogs) so it gets hot and in turn the connector will start to deform and the wires will eventually pull themselves out of the connector. Ive been thru 3 and they all did the same thing. Should this be your problem, replace the wire with a larger gauge once you get the new switch and you shouldnt have any problems.

Those h/l switches dont like to come out easily. There are 4 tabs holding it in, two on each side and they all have lil teeth on them.

Your speedo cable probably needs lubed or replaced. Dirt or a bad cable will keep it from spinning smoothly.

its only 2 tabs on the switch, you tilt the switch in and it comes right out
