your cam starts making your hp #'s go downhill after around 5100rpms give or take... you still have pull at 6400 but it aint as much as 5000........ i liked carbs when i had my 240-280z's but when it comes to the 302 i'd take efi hands down

ahh ya i c..... ever thought about gettin another carb?.... if you got like 600 bucks you could get a efi intake, puter, and maf, and harness and you wont have that prob (maybe).... converting to efi aint cheap, and i'd go mass air....

if this is a small corse then having the right gear is very impotant...the 600 carb can be massaged to 670 or so....also making a small vacuum leak will help with more gas..a round track trick..which if caught isn't good.....I would mill the air horn if your class permits..also you can dill out the lil 4 holes you see looking down in the carb to give a 4 corner like tune
