5.0>3.8
well, I had recently gotten a call from the engine shop, and they want 4 grand to fix my sixer, sothe 5.0 may have won. if my family mechanic still has the roller 5.0 he has crated up I may buy it off of him, he said he built it, and by looking at his '88 t-top I can say he knows what he is doing...
If I can afford it, I may get it, but if I cant then I may just have to either give up on my car and let it sit endlessly or junkyard hop for a new engine...

RE: 5.0>3.8
Im thinking the $4k is for the new motor and the labor to install it.
Thats what a shop wanted to put a motor in my old Blazer.
I went with a junkyard motor and paid a friend to install it. Total cost was $1400.

You can get a 5.0 short block rebuilt for $1000
toss on some P heads $600
aftermarket cam and intake for carb.
fox 5.0 K members are easy to find.

my only worries are the money aspect and the wiring aspect. I really dont want to give up and have to sell the car (or attempt to sell it again)
where can I get a 1000 dollar shortblock? everyone says how cheap this stuff is, I just dont know where to get all these great and cheap parts.
it did feel like a kick in the nuts when the guy said it would be over 4 k to fix it... the first words out of my mouth were... "what?" I'd rebuild the damn sixer myself, but it has given me so many problems since I fixed it... overheating, spinning bearings, dead gauges... I dont know what to do with it, except hit the damn block with a hammer...
