I've always used an impact, mine came right off.. Don't mean to sound sarcastic, but are you sure you have the impact in the back-out position. One other thing, try spraying some WD-40 on there, or some liquid wrench, stuff works wonders. Good luck.

Yeah I got it on the back out position =] I tried wd40 also. I guess my main thing is, it wont budge but also the belt moves little by little. The impact gun is kind of hard to fit down in there, so my best thing is the ratchet.

OH, you still have the thing in the car!? I have always taken the alt. out of the car to change the pulley on it.. It is much easier I'll tell ya.. Only takes a few more minutes, and less headache.

no way to remove it other than using an impact, its easier to keep the belt on when you do it.

yeah leave the belt on and use an extension and a 1/2 universal jointon the end with the socket. and hold the extension the direction you wanna take it off so the impact gun hits it and isnt bouncing the socket on the nut. and it should come off. unless your impact gun is weak, if thats the reason youll never get it off. i had to go buy a new impact gun to get it off.

i used a ratchet and a breaker bar. you need to make sure the alternator does not rotate as you rotate the ratchet or else you wont get anywhere!!! use a breaker bar for more torque and lock the alt fan.. should come off..
