I took mine off and on my h-pipe took a small piece of radiator hose and inserted a piece of metal the diameter of the inside of the hose and clamped it on my pipe. Got rid of my exhause leak and you can take it off easily if you ever get ready to run new pipe. Im not sure about the smog delete if it will work for you or not, ask addermk he will know.
