I'm pretty sure you have to flycut the pistons for a AFR 185, actually I'm almost positive. I dunno if you're gunna get 300 rwhp on motor, stock dispacement. I don't think I have seen it done, but I haven't been around that long. More like 250 to 290 tops is feasible.
300rwhp on a stock shortblock is not difficult. There are tons of examples.

I don't think I mentioned outflowing, but ok. I've always heard the AFR flow numbers are inflated anyways. Plus, it's not all about flow numbers. I have seen plenty of examples of 300 hp on a stock shortblock, but not n/a with just H/C/I. You may also be forgitting we are talking to the wheels.

I'm not forgetting. 330+rwhp, stock 9:1 shortblock 302 as Ford built it, H/C/I, EFI Those are pretty much the best EFI stock shortblock combos I've seen. Carb can do a little better. 310-320rwhp is very common. To make 330+rwhp, it takes good attention to detail and the proper selection of the H/C/I.

But with what set up? I would think u would have to balance and blueprint a motor and throw n some tricks to get those numbers.

Factory Ford. The way Ford built it and put it in the 5.0 15+ years ago. Not torn apart, no new bearings, no tricks. Stock shortblock, factory EFI, no FAST or BS3. A simple H/C/I combo. That's where the tricks are; in the H/C/I. It's just a plain hyd. roller. It's nothing anyone here can't repeat if they wanted to.

I guess man, just everyone else can't do it then. I dunno, I'll believe it when I see it. It's not that I don't believe it can be done. Just haven't seen it with my two eyes, or even heard a set up.
