contemplating on a happier note
well, I may have found another '87 engine out of a wrecked '87 GT, 80-90K on it, ran great when pulled from the car. included with the5.0 are most of the accessories, stock headers and an Edelbrock performer intake (used) for a carb setup. 500 for the lot.... I think I may go this route, replace the seals and the rear main, then convert my car for 1800ish as opposed to buying a shortblock for 1800...
what do you guys think?
I'm gonna need some help with the wiring and other odds and ends like vacumn lines, sensors etc. I'm keeping the stock trans for now, I'll convert to an AOD later... right now I just need the motor.
I'm ditching the AC, dont really need it (t-tops) and I may also ditch the smog... but I dont know if the rents will want/let me to do that. where I live they dont do emissions...
I'm seriously considering this engine, I'm only an hour and a half away from it, so getting it wont be hard.
I may also see if I can score some motor mounts and a 4bbl if I can

all stock heads are ****ty. use www.car-part.com and find some GT40's from a 96 explorer.
you can get GT40P's, but they will require a special set of headers.

cool beans.
I'm gonna talk it over with my rents.
I know I can do most of the work myself, I'd just need a hand with the electrical...
its all nuts and bolts in the end[8D]
