i got a 88 stang. do the check engine light etc. come on when you start the car. im just wondering because mine dont, and i have all fuses in place, maybe the previous owner took out some bulbs?

Low coolant, check engine, and battery lights should come on when you turn the key and then go off once the engine is running. If its not running the low coolant should go off but the check light and batt light stay on until the engines running. Take the cluster off and check for missing or burned out bulbs.

hey a guy at advanced auto parts told me a couple weeks back when checking my codes and he told me that my car wasnt equipped with the check engine light deal...i have an 88 5.0 mustang lx...thats why if you feel something weird in your car you have to go run codes bc the car wont tell you...
