tapping bolts
make sure you have the right tapsize and just start the tap by hand and you can either tap it with a proper tapwrench (t-handle or handle) or tap it with a set of adjustable wrenches. just make sure the tap is going in straight. o yeah and lube the hole some with something other than hydraulic oil or synthetic motor oil. cutting oil is usually best but in a pinch used motor oil is great. o yeah make sure you have a hand tap/ 4 flute tap not the 3 flute machine tap. if you really want to be ballsy and since it's a thru hole power tap it with a hand drill. easy outs can come out if you break them. there's no material made that can't be machined.

Easy out's. That is the best way to get seized studs out of anything. A $10.00 investment. Try that before you put a torch to them though, you will actually harden them with a torch making drilling a bit tough.

I would get a product called "PB Blaster and put that on the bolts overnight.
Then, I would try the vice-grips. I'd use the ones that are about 8-9" long with the curved jaws.
If that don't work, get a LEFT HANDED drill bit and carefully center-punch the bolt and then with the drill in reverse, drill it out.
Lotsa times the left hand drill bit will catch the bolt and bring it out...........
Good luck...........

I can't believe you actually asked how to use vise grips. They are locking pliers... lock them on the bolt head and turn them to unscrew the bolt. And as far as I know, tapping is not to remove a bolt. Tapping is when you drill a hole into a piece of metal and run a tap into it to make threads in the hole so you can screw a bolt into it. A die is used to put a thread on a metal rod so it can be screwed into a hole. An easy out is used to remove a bolt by drilling a hole into the bolt and then screwing the reverse threaded easy out into the hole and un-screwing the bolt. But like said above, they tend to break and cause a bigger problem. Use vise grips and lots of penatrating oil and some heat from a torch if needed. If vise grips don't work, I've taken a dremel and grinded on the head of the bolt until it has two flat sides opposite from each other and used a wrench to remove the bolt. If that fails, I've taken my dremel and cut a slot on the head of the bolt and put a flat head screwdriver bit on theend ofmy impact wrench and taken bolts out. If that doesn't work, I get the torch out and burn the head of the bolt off and us the vise grips to get the rest of the bolt out.
