Stereo Wiring

Stereo Wiring
I'm trying to put a new deck in my car, after I took the old deck out I saw the wiring harnesses. They are different from the installation harness I bought and I can't find and wiring diagram that matches it. It has 2 yellow/black wires going in to one spot and 2 other wires a blue/red and a orange/blue both going in to seperate spots. The speaker wires are not the problem just the others. I do have the amp pull switch in my car. Any idea on which is which, and how to hook up the new stereo?

RE: Stereo Wiring
you are the person that I want to see bad things happen to. You are an idiot and I am sure your wire harness in your car is hacked beyond all reasonable doubt.
I am a stereo installer and I have been for 8 years now. I work at best buy and they have the harness that you need. It is specifically labled for 82-86 ford. 19.99 plus tax. Get this and you will not have any problems. Or have the radio pulled out and go up there and one of the guys will walk out there and look at it and get you the right harness. But for the love of god, dont cut the factory harness.

Cut the harnesses off, take a meter and figure out what wire is what. Use a small battery to check speaker wires.

I never cut the factory wire. The originalharnesses are in the car I bought harness from walmart that said they were made for the car and they don't work. As far as I can tell I don't have an ignition wire. Anybody?

How do you know that you don't have an ignition wire, do you have a blown fuse? Not all ignition wires are red either. You may need a circuit ciity or best buy, make sure you also buy a meter to test your connections.
