Default Cam Parts

Do i need to by roller lifters and pushrods when purchasing a cam or do I just need bearings, thrust plate, and timing chain? Thanks

u need lifters and maybe timing chain dependion on how loose it is. You could replace the bearings but it requires a special tool, usually a machine shop does this. You also don't need a new thrust plate. Definitely not pushrods unless one is clogged or bent.

Pushrods are ok, the stock lifters wont work or just need replaced when doing a swap? I'm not doing the swap my uncle is and said to order bearings with it.

usually u wanna replace lifters because the mate with each lobe of the cam. that's y u keep them in oreder when u take them out if ure reusing the cam. You don't need to do bearings

Id get hardened pushrods. Most cam companies recommend them.

Hardened pushrods are only required with non self aligning rockers(adjustable) that use guideplates. Otherwise it's a waste of money. Unless u just wanna say u have hardened pushrods? hahaha

yes they have to be designed for the 5.0. Hydraulic roller. Ford sells them for like $100, that's what I have in mine.

u don't necessarily need a timing chain, only if it's worn out. If it has alot of slack then replace it. If the car has a lot of miles then u'll probably need one n e ways.
