You could also check Camshaft Innovations, custom cam, Canfield or TFS heads with the correct valvetrain components to support the cam, lifters, timing set, etc, etc.....based on the level of performance you're looking for.

is there something like to big of head for a 302 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SBF-Z...17534357QQrdZ1
Nope....provided you install the correct cam and valvetrain.

+1 jay allen makes great cams... get acam from camshaft innovations... as for heads its kinda more of your price range and style... i like hte stock iron head look.. so i got my gt-40s ported the hell out of... they flow great.... now if u like aluminum heads u have a few choices... ARF being the most popular id say... and TF being a close second but mostly becuz of price not preformance as much.... canfield makes great heads... check them out for sure... if u dont wanna **** around and u have the cash ARF 165s or 185s goin to be a simple way to go... they are costly tho... so a lil research on what u like and dont like.... ever lil think matters if you spending a grand or more on something.... even how they look... may seem done dumb but get you moneys worth is all my sayin... if use details.... such as budget goals and you knowledge of engines and we can help to guide u in the rite direction... but i cant say u need AFR 185s with no info.. first off there to big for an N/A 302 and secondly they cost a ton and may be outta your budget

I can't believe he said trick flows don't perform. I guess everyone is on the AFR bandwagon now because of flow numbers. They did nothing to the combustion chamber. It's just a standard wedge head with some good ports.

Aluminum heads are lighter and dissipate heat better. Which means u should run a lil cooler and u can put more timing into the motor before detonation. Dissadvantage, aluminum becomes brittle after many heat cycles

AFR makes a head all the way up to 225 I think, but u aint puttin those on a stock motor. Trick flow makes cnc ported heads and a high port or high flow or somethin

165 is the highest u can go without notching the pistons. Acoording to adder it's easy to do and n e machine shop can do it. Around here no machine shops do it, so I really don't agree. They only make one size track heat head, unless it's the ported version which is a 185 instead of a 170. Mine are 170
