Well tomarrow im finally putting in the front springs and struts. any pointers?

lol, not tryin to be a showoff or anything........but if you goto the tech articles.....all the way at the bottom of the list, is a full write up with pictures by yours truly =P i dont think there would be much difference is any in an 85.

Make sure you have the correct spring copmressors for the front. The ones that go on the inside of the spring, not on the outside

lol, i couldnt get the one on the inside. the tool was too big to fit in the hole in the bottom of the A-arm. is the 85 different? or did i just have an oversized tool? i ended up using an external one

somebody told me we could just use i floor jack and slowly pump it up and compress jsut enough to tighten them up. oh BTW i got lowering springs if it makes a difference

lol, yeah.......it depends on how far u have the car off the ground, i had mine on like the 3rd click on my jackstands and the A-arms hit the ground before the springs were fully decompressed. its pretty dangerous not having somehtin to hold them, cuz the A-arm angles when u let it down, and the springs like to fly out.....and i did lowering springs in my install, i dont think its any diff

btw, i had FRPP lowerin springs, they were actually bigger than the springs i took out, cuz the old ones were cut. i LOVE the way my fox sits now though, it was well worth the trouble. once u figure out the first one, the second one takes less than half the time

well do you think i could rent a spring compressor? like from autozone or sumthing? i think thats what i have my jackstands on now so maybe ill raise them in the morning.

yeah, i called advance, they had one, it was like 70 bucks to rent, they pay u back in full whenu return it. my boss just happened to have one that would work....so yeah, idk about autozone
