Camshaft
What kind of camshaft should I look for that would give some good performance and drivability. This is my daily driver so I'm not looking for anything that is too crazy. And i know this is a newbie question, but what exactly is the differences between a roller cam and a flat tappet cam?

RE: Camshaft
i have a e303. it sounds pissed off and its good for DD. IF i could do it again i would get a cam with a bigger lift on the exahust side to alow the car to breath a bit better. check out lunati or crane, im not sure about the tfs1 cam on stock pistions.

RE: Camshaft
If you have an 83 motor in your car still you need a flat tappet cam. A flat tappet cam has a flat bottom lifter, the flat part contacts the cam. A roller tappet lift has a roller on a needle bearing, the roller rolls along the cam.
I put together an 83 gt motor last fall, I used this camwith stock heads and a torker 289 intake. I never drove the car with that motor because of tranny problems but it sounded pretty good. I also checked ptv clearance and I had plenty, like .120 on both intake and exhaust side.
