so my 90 5.0 supercharged car is making 0 boost. My boost gauge is staying in vacumeat WOT through all gears. My carhas apowerdyne supercharger (9psi usually) , 42lb injectors, msd ignition, b303 cam, gt 40heads, cobra intake, bbk headers, flowmaster 40's with an exhaust leak somewhere, well thats the just of it, im forgetting some stuff but what would be causing my supercharger to be making 0 lbs of boost?My clutch is almostgone... it slips through all gears. Would that do anything to cause me not tomake boost?any help is appreciated, i live in MA and we have a yearly huge carshow starting at the beginning of july so this problem needs to be solved by then.... thanks - Jay

 

Powerdynes have an internal belt drive do they not? If so, sounds like the inside belt broke.

regardless even w. an n/a car you shouldn be in vac at wot, it should read 0

 

the s/c is definately not spinning, and its probably causing an intake restriction, which would cause vacuum

 

yea, take off the outer belt and turn the pulley by hand, be sure it moves freely. then open the case and chances are you have to replace the inner belt... and guess what you can' buy them. You'll have to send it to powerdyne for a rebuild.

 

that makes plenty of sense to me

Well the supercharger was on the car when i bought it otherwise i would not have bought a powerdyne... now that i am stuck with it, how much is this going to cost me to fix? Would it be cheaper to just swap the superchager for a vortec? Im pretty sure a vortec wont bolt into my car tho so that will cost me way more money which is something i dont have.....
