And I'm not sure if anyone read what I wrote, but he used their petroleum additive in synthetic oil, which would suggest that he isn't as much of an expert as he claims to be or he would have known not to mix the two, Lucas makes a synthetic additive and any "expert" would have known to use that.

Anyway, I don't have any tests I can show to vouch for it, but basically EVERY mechanic or sports car fanatic I've talked to have recommended Lucas additives, it's a tad strange that they are all fooled while this one guy isn't...

I have always been under the impression that if you add something else to your oil, than your oil isn't going to perform as well. I would just get a better oil rather than adding something else to it.

most people won't have any idea the foam was happening unless it show'd a decent drop in oil pressure......if used in transmission or rear you would have no idea til something broken..by then it's too late..I use no additives in any of my cars..none..why would you need it..

I use lucas on my car and have been using it for quite some time, I have never had any problems with it. I do aggree with roundman, if the product svcked we would have heard from many important people not to buy this product. I have to see plenty of evidence so I can discredit a good product.

I use lucas additive in everything i have and have never had a problem.I run the in my triaxle dump trucks,bobcats pickups,trailer hubs .stuff is great if you ask me and i also have it in my boat motors

I dont' use additives, because I just figure, get the good oil so you don't need any. But I would deffinately not be completely persuaded by just one test by one person.

I wonder what the outcome would be if Lucas did the "same" (used correct oil with additives) tests?

we had a VW Golf come in to the shop once with an oil pressure problem. During slow city driving in hot weather his oil light would come on. We put some Lucas in it and it never happen again. If the oil foamed up in the engine like that experiment showed, oil pressure would suffer. But rather oil pressure was restored.
