Default clutch quadrant help

Alright fellas, Heres my problem. I just ordered the steeda clutch quadrant, firewall adjusted, and adjustable cable. My problem is i cant get the damn pawl gear out. ithink thats what its called. Its the small plastic gear.i have tryd and tryd. I got the big piece out and the clips and springs. I just dont see any way to get it off that shaft.I guess im hopeing someone has a idea to help out. lol Its got me pissed off!

TO GET THE NEW ONE ON YOU WILL HAVE TO PEEL THE CARPET BACK
AND AS FOR GETTING THE SMALL PICE OUT I BROKE IT IN TWO WITH HAMMER AND CHISEL
