Default Help

Realistically, my car is an 87GT, 5-speed car with 2.73 gears; If a guy is good at pulling the gears, what 1/4 mile times is this car capable of? What are the easiest mods to get me into the 13-second area? I have a BBK offroad X-pipe, Dynomax exhaust, and cold air intake, MSD coil/wires the rest is stock with speed density. Would headers andgears(3.55-3.73) do it for me?

I never raced the car, and am realitively new to Mustangs. I figured that these cars were mid-14 second cars, but was curious to see how far you needed to go to break into the 13-second zone.
".....not a chance in hell....." well alot of people that must eitherbe dreaming or BS-ing out there because I have read there are guys with aftermarket intakes, exhaust and gears on their 5.0's and are getting high 13 second cars. Obviously they have done more than that.

my friend used to run a 87gt with a 4barrel carb and highrise intake and was in low 13s easy everytime he raced almost.and he had some after market ignition. old school is cheaper but less eficient in my opinion.a cam and few things like better flowing heads, and larger injectors, etc... but its costly. i wouldnt worry about gears till later.personally if ur not at the track every week just drive the car and have fun and save ur money. no one on street will care if ur car is a 14 sec or 13 sec car, but ur wallet will
