yeah thats what i thought, could it be the 3-4 shift solinoid or the tq converter? The stinkin tranny was jsut rebuilt 5-10k miles ago by my mechanic so I really am having a hard time beleiving this is something internal. The tq converter was also replaced but I have learned over my years of experence that new stuff doesnt always work.

dude mine did pretty much the same thing bucking and like unlocking but mine only jumped like 300 or 400 rpms. i also didnt want to stay on OD that long. thought maby i messed up 2nd or 3rd in it. i let it cool off and she was fine for the drive back home. fluid was plenty full. mine should be stock. im going to find the guys number that had the car before me and find out if the tranny is stock.

this thing does it in 3rd too if you turn off od it jsut makes it worse, so its really makign me think its the converter or some other sensor.

EDIT: btw it got way worse the other day the thing was almsot redlining itself when im at like 30% throttle cruzing on the highway it got so bad I hadda pull over and let it calm down.

i would check the tps and the map sensor, the tps tells the trans when to shift and the map sensor is the load sensing devise so maksure there is nothing there or have a scanner hooked up to the car and check it for soft codes

your torque converter cant "unlock" and just redline your car. they use fluid pressure to drive your transmission the only thing that can happen is the car stops pulling. i know lots of OD cars have what they call gear hunting around 60 mph, but that would go away if you had OD off. it sounds like your direct clutches(i think thats wut they are called) are slipping, they are supposed to be engaged in every forward gear, if the pressure dropped then they would kind of un-apply and you would over rev......not positive, but its got to be a tranny problem. even if your TPS was messed up your motor wouldnt just rev the **** out of itself for no reason, i didnt think 95's had a MAP sensor, just a MAF meter......not positive on that since ive never worked on one though

its really weird it doesn jsut go woo and rev to 5k it slowly climbs kinda liek a clutch si clipping liek you say, but its jsut light throttle to hold cruze. Ill check out the tps and map and report back, god ill be really pissed if this is a tranny problem, the damn thing was only rebuilt a few months ago[:@]
