Default RE: starter question

You know something i have the same problem i have a 1992 Gt 5.0 ... And it every time i run it for a awhile it gets to hot and wont start...?
Sometime i run it for a while and it will start ,,, But it make a wierd noise as if it was already Engaged? Like a scratchy noise ...
I went to a mechanic he said it was Definitley a starter but i didn't replace it yet cause i wasnt sure?

If i but a new starter i hope the problem go's away! im sure it will, but im thinking maybe we should wrap the starter in a High Temp Tape cover or something that it wont get hot try that let me know how it goe's then i will do it lol!

Yes you are my ginny pig

Had that problem manya time, if its not the starter, which most likely it is, Check your solenoid. Ill still bet its your starter though.

They sell sheets of heat wrap specifically to sheild starters. May be worth a shot for around 20 bucks.
