PCV Screen?
I just pulled the original screen out from under the PCV valve(145,000 miles), does it really need one or can this be left out? My guess is I would get more oil sucked through without it and do not really want that, correct? Thanks guys................
I'm gonna replace it, its only a few bucks and she deserves it. Got to replace a couple of hoses as well. Q,with it being as gunked up as it is, would this hurt my performance, milage or idle qualities. My idle is good with the exception of a little roughness. This may be caused by the cracks in some hoses, hence the reason I'm trying to go through a few things. She is stock with the exception of no cats and no air pump. My milage is around 21 MPG.
yep that screen could do it, if you have a slight bog when going WOT from a roll, good chance it could be that screen, i replaced mine and i swear shes a completely new wilderbeast, mine was clogged some aweful though
I replaced it and cleaned the PCV. Replaced a couple of lines and correctly capped a few others and she idles better and I do feel a little more pep in her giddyup. Monday she is going to the shop for a little A/C work andI wanted her to be in tip top shape.
I simply cleaned my filter out with some shots of carb cleaner. The filter can be taken apart if you like. Goes back together no problem.
You dont need a new screen. Clean it, let it drain for a few minutes or bump it a few times to remove excess cleaner, good as new. Very easy.
