Default engine computer mods

I am going machine my 5.0 to a 306 and put new performance heads, exhaust, throttle body, intake on my 94 GT 5.0L. My question is will my engine computer allow the extra horsepower or will i have to get an new one/ reprogram the old one, any feed back would be great

you will probably need a tune. why not go for a 347 instead?? it will be quicker.

with those mods you dont have to get a tune but the car will run better and make more hp if you did

they arent any less reliable then any other motor. the problem is that they make a lot of torque and the stock block is a POS

youd have to have the block cleaned, bored 30 over and honed. i would recomend line honing and polising the crank. you will need to buy a new crank, rods, pistons and rings. depending on the rods you use you may need to notch the block. a better oil pump would be nice and a cam that will let your motor breath. not to mention a good set of heads and an intake for max hp.

Its not the machine shop that is going to cost you.......it is the parts....pistons, rings, rods, etc....

Machine shops are normally pretty reasonable.
