93 f 150= non hobut should still be roller motor that has the spider bracket and wishbones. to swap a cam remove your intake, valve covers, unbolt rocker arms, remove pushrods and lifrters, remove crank and water pump pulleys, harmonic balancer, timing cover, timing gear and chain, camshaft thrust plate, and your ready to pull out a camshaft. install reverse of removal. never hurts to replace lifters theyre about $110 bucks from summit racing.

the only difference in the non HO motor is the firing order and cam, if you were even planning on changing out the cam on a HO then you wont have any problems with the nonHO

I got the same problem as you . I've checked on ford trucks forums and ask some guys and they were right. After 87 , every 302 (HO and non HO) has the same casting . That means that even a 302 non HO from a F150 is ready roller , even the 2 screws on the top of the engine for the spider , and it accept the roller lifters AND the dog bones .

To change the firing order , just swap your camshaft.

The pistons are different too . Non HO has flat top pistons , and the HO forged pistons , so if you stay with the truck pistons , you're gonna loose a little bit a compression (8.5 : 1)

swap all you got from your stang to this engine (cam , intake , water pump) and it will work well

Fortunately for you, the motor would already be out of the car. That makes the cam swap just that much easier. Are you going to keep it carbed? If not, you'll need a computer for a HO motor as well
