I have a 94 mustang gt with cold air intake under drive pulleys 4:10 gears fuel regualor other things i got done wont matter with this question but when is best time to shift when drag racing this will be the first time i ran it. but at what rpm should i shift it? i just wanna see the best time i can get from it b4 i get my heads plentum and intake on it thankyou.
The feel thing is not very accurate.
Tried it on the street and felt 5200 was a good shift point for my car.
It's a 93 with cold air, underdrives, long tubes, elec fan and Flowmasters. Stock meter, tb, intake, heads and cam.
At the track I ran 14.0@100 shifting at 5200.
Lowered the shift points to 4800 it ran a 13.8@101.

I agree stockers fall on their face after 5200rpm P zero. What's your opinion on my 2 tenths and 1mph with only a shift point change.
Every run that day was a 2.0 something 60', except for one where I tried to launch at 1500rpm instead of idle. So the launch was consistant.
