PP intake arnt the best but thay are not the worst either they out flow a gt-40 and cobra setups, if you clean the runners upa bit and some light porting they will flow with the trick flows, all this talk about gasket matching is bull when i got mine the runners were already bigger than the gasket i had to trim the gasket. I have owned a PP intake and it preformed flawlessly on a 350hp stang, i sold it for 200 bucks, to go to a 408 carbed setup.

no... no... no... the gt 40 is a really good intake if you get the lower and upper they fllow plenty, i meen unless you p[lan on haveing an all out drag race car the gt-4o intake will flow awesome, i like them a little better than the cobra intake because the tubes are seperated and it just looks a little better plus the 1" spacer helps with a little denser and colder air.

To 88gt40: have you got a gt40 now? do you know approx. how much hp the GT40 adds? i mean the real gt40, not the explorer intake. I am curious because I have a GT40 intake I bought from my friend when he switched to carb. I agree the Gt40 does look better than the Cobra. Thanks man.

From my expieriance with the gt-40, cobra and PP typhooon i like the typhoon the best, on my car it made more feelible power but yeah it does need to be cleaned up a little. I ran a 75mm tb that did reruire a little porting but I did this with a paddle wheel sander no grinding required, the front cover comes right off the typhoon making it real aesy to port if need be, gt-40 and cobra are expencsive to get ported. i believe there is plenty of extra material on the typhoon to make it out flow any of the 500 dollar and below intakes with the right porting, but im carbed know so it does not matter to me.

Ok, another question about the typhoon......and I guess with any others too.....do i need to keep the throttle body spacer on? Or can I just run tb to intake?

keep the spacer..I use the gt=40 intake..it is by far the nicest looking IMO and with some porting and some expoxy flow very well
