Default front brakes

89 GT front brake rattle any suggestion? i have changed calipers, pads, and caliper mount bolts? it's still there and annoying the hell out of me, it's only when i hit a big road seam or bump in the road ?????

what kind of rattle? how are you sure it's the brakes that are doing this?

yeah make sure you used pad shims yeah the ones that come in the box with a decent set of pads not the cheap as_ ones that you buy at autozone for 10.99 the cheap ones are cheap for a reason they don't comwwith the required hardware!!! make sure you are definately hearing a brake noise!!

Anti-rattle clips. I did the same thing back in 1991, ran myself nuts looking for a rattle over some $2.00 clips.

do NOT get aftermarket shims that glue onto the back of the pad. Those will only cause you more headaches by slipping off or sliding around. If you want to get shims, get OEM style that have the shim rivited to the back of the pad. That means you'll have to get new pads though.

Get some anti-squeal goo that's usually in blue or orange, take the clips out and and put a very LIGHT coating of the goo on the back of the clip that engages the calipers, not the pads. Then get some anti-sieze or light grease and put that on the surface of the clip that engages the pad guides.
