Default G Force Trans

Well I'm still tryin to make a tranny decision. I had decided TKO but I have some friends with them and they have hell tryin to hit 3rd. Plus it's a expensive option. I have thought for a while about upgrading the t5 with some g force internals but don't even know if it is worth the time, seeing as how weak the t5 case is. I was going to order their kit with 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, input, and cluster shafts. Has anyone run one of their tranny's and had good luck. I'm makin about 400-450 ft lbs right now but will spray the car in the near future. Your opinions are appreciated.

From their torque rating, youre right at the upper edge of what they reccomend. Especially once you gas it.
And youre absolutely right on the cases being junk. I used to have 10 messed up T-5 cases. T-5's are too weak IMO. Get the TKO. Itll be worth the money in the long run. As much money as Ive spent replacing T-5's I couldve got a T3650 [:@].

A toploader would be good. But like you said theyre hard to find. Also, there were 2 different ones. 1 had close ratio gears then wide ratio. While Im sure youll be able to find the wide ratio one, its the close ratio that youd really want in there. Aside from that, when you do find it itll probably need rebuilding or if you find a good used one it could cost just as much as the TKO.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIRD GEAR!!!! I hate to yell but i read of so many people whining about grinding(poet and did not know it lol) into third. It is not the tranny but the driver. When you go into third,it is straight up. Do not try to go up and to the right even a little bit, when that happens third gear is not grinding your are grinding between third and fifth. Second to third----slam it straight up. And yes that is with stock shifter. Dont be afraid of it and you will never grind if you do it this way. When im taking my stang out on the weekends just cruising i will still sometimes grind the gears if i am not thinking but when its go time i dont forget.

The thing to remember is that the G-Force parts, along with the install, unless you can do it yourself, will cost pretty much as much as a TKO, and isn't nearly as good. I'd get the TKO 600, it's gonna be one of the best things you can do for your car. I'm getting me one, already have most of the needed parts, just need the damn tranny now.

I have a tko myself and yeah they can be a little hard to shift with the shifter that comes with it, I put an MGW on mine and it shifts like butter!
