well i wasnt sure about it b/c of changing from stock to full roller, and i was standing there talking to the sales guy at the jegs store... they suppose to be somewhat knowledgable well guess i learned my lesson there.... so i need STOCK LENGTH RIGHT???? i dont want to have to tear this apart again anytime soon until heads/cam would have done it now but the $$$$ isnt there

the best way is like adder said and check valvetrain geometry. to do it properly you should use an adjustable push rod length checker. I start with cyl #1 at top dead center and start there and work my way around the firing order bringing each such cyl up to top dead center and with the checker and roller rocker in hand I set the valve train up marking the tips of the valve stems with marker to see the travel and placement of the rockers then I take it back apart and check the marks and lengthen or shorten the checker accordingly till geometry is just right. then I measure the rod and wha la you have the correct length needed. I use comp cams checker works every time

hmm i didnt think just swapping 1.7 roller rockers was so complicated figured just take off old ones install new ones??? didnt have to worry about pushrod length, only reason i got longer ones was b/c of pos jegs guy. so im going to have to get a pushrod length checker and check the length for my pushrods just b/c of changing to roller rockers?

problem is, he assumed your car was completely stock...you could have shaved heads, shaved deck, etc... those are all factors in valvetrain geometry.. put the stockers in and check it..
