my speedometer works fine up till 20mph them it starts dancing back and forth, then when i speed up it goes to 120mph or so any ideas if its the cable or the gear, any help would be great just need some answers......

 

this is a common problem...my mustang does it too....ive changed the cluster, and cable and it still bounces..im changed the VSS next..yea thats probley the cable or the gear there cheap replace it.

 

sounds like its the gear. its a cheap and easy part to fix.

In my case the cable was kinked and speedo head was broken.

 

well tahts what i was also thinking but every once i a while under 30mph around 20mph it works fine the faster i go the more it bounces

 

could be the speed sensor mine was broken causing the needle to hop around everywhere
