clutch cable installation problems.. *QUICK HELP*
i just got a new adjustable UPR clutch cable and quick release quadrant and im in the process of installing everything right now, and i cant seem to figure out how to properly install the aftermarket quadrant and adjust everything.
the stock yellow plastic quadrant had a self adjustment to it, and it had an alternate plastic peice with teeth on it and im not sure if the new quadrant needs that peice or not. and if it doesnt, i cant even get the peice off the assembly..
and im not sure how the spring that goes behind the stock quadrant can even be used on the aftermarket one. because the stock quadrant had a plastic peice that the spring pushed against that when the clutch was pushed in it, it put back pressure on the assembly.. well there isnt really anywhere on the aftermarket quadrant for it to attatch.. do i even need the spring?
if anyone understood what i just described and has any idea what to do.. please let me know lol. sorry is the spelling was off..
edit: oh and i did try the search but couldnt really find what im looking for..

well with my steeda quadrant and cable you dont need any of the stock stuff...no springs..nothin, the big stock quadrant is easy to come off you just have to get the spring detached from it and push the clutch in all the way and it should slide off..the little one is harder but i found its WAY easier to pry it off from the firewall side with a big pry bar..mine came off right away.
There are two pins that hold the old plastic piece in place. Take them out and the plastic piece should slide off. Then put the new quadrant on and put the pins back in. If you need some pics give me your email address and I can email some that Brian Rogers from BBK sent to me. They helped me out a lot.
ok i finally got everything together after breaking that lil stock plastic peice off and bending the metal brace a little to get it out of the way to get the quadrant on, but now i cant seem to get the clutch cable adjusted right. it almost seems like i have to much cable. the end with the adjustment on it is also to long when its adjusted to as short as it will go to fit in the cover for the clutch fork.. do i have to cut the end off? anyone else have this problem? i have a UPR clutch cable by the way..
mine was like that also i have a zoom adjustable cable.. i have to keep adjusting it after a days worth of driving and now its adjusted all the way towards the the front of the car.. i put the stock cable back on now i have too much cable it slips off the quadrant on the pedals the cable issue for me has been a headache for me. i have no idea what to do anymore lol tommrow im goin to put the addjustable one back on and mount the bracket and try it again and see what happens .
