You could make the ports from the upper to the lower bigger... You could also make the lower intake ports bigger to match the upper intake...

It's not really worth the time IMO, since you can get a gt40 upper and lower intake or just go all out on a brand new upper/lower intake.

the gt40 is hard to find around here.. i dont buy off e bay so locally only, but if i can make it flow as good as the gt40 and get a 65mm TB i should see some improvement. say i put a aftermarket one on, with the increase avalability of air will the engine want more fuel as well? all this crap is why im considering going carbbed

Putting a new upper and lower intake is not going to create a demand for bigger injectors. You just bolt on the new upper and lower and you are set. A new upper and lower intake by itself isn't going to bring much gains...

As you probably already know H/C/I is a very effective way to get some serious power. It can be done cheaply by finding a set of GT40P's and an upper/lower explorer intake and then just a new cam maybe a TFS1, e303, b303 etc...

I just had my e7's ported and got a trickflow upper/lower intake along with an e303 cam and some 24lb injectors. I spent around $1600 total with all gaskets and the bigger injectors.

I would port the lower only, and the throttle opening to 65 when you get a 65mm throttle body

I used a deremel and a lot of time to port the stock intake on my 87. port matched the upper to lower and then the long tedeouse part ported the intake to match my 70mm EGR & TB If you do it plan on using few stones and course sand paper collars. I'm at work right now but if you like I can post a picture of a stock u-touched intake and my ported one next to it. Don't know if it will improve anything much as the real restiction is in the inner part of the neck.

I ported both my stock upper and lower intake, picked up 3 ths in the quarter with that an a 65mm tb. I cut my upper in 2, ported/knifed the inside and welded it back together. I also have some pictures if you would like to see.
