An EGR eliminator...which is just a resisitor that plugs into the connector wher the EGR position sensor was. Keep it on save some headaches...you're going to want some gas mileage when you get your license...

YEah the pump you can do without worrying about tripping codes and such since there's no O2 sensors after they pump air into the exhaust.

not having the EGR valve plugged in the electric connector hurts gas mileage????? is this true?

I believe so, unless you have the eliminator which tells the computer that it's always closed...

when I removed my EGR valve I took it apart and put the top part of it where the wiring harness plugs into it back on the harness and just left it tied up out of the way and it works fine like this for my '88. you do need to plug off the vacuum line that used to connect to it also. if you really want to gain some more power, you can remove the upper intake and plug off the opening in the bottom of it that lets the hot gases go through the upper intake to the EGR valve and this will keep the intake a bit cooler. I used some marine grade epoxy compound and some steel wool to back it up to plug off this in mine plus I put a small thin piece of stainless steel shim stock over the hole in the lower intake where the gases come from, just make sure it is thinner than the upper to lower intake gasket so the gasket can seal properly.

Default RE: EGR deleta

wait a second, so your saying there is MORE i need to plug up for EGR?

ok this is what i understand,

I should remove the upper intake manifold, and there is a hole in the lower intake manifold that needs to be plugged? Is this correct?

Thanks.
