Hey everybody. I got a 91 LX 5.0. I have keyless entry/alarm and it came stock. A couple questions. My system has been acting wierd lately and Id like to know the solution. First when I push the unlock button or lock button on my remote, sometimes the car does nothing. So then I have to proceed to unlock the door manually, which sets the alarm off, and then the remote works when I press the button. Now its done this like 10 times in the past 2 days, and the scenario is always the same. The remote doesnt work, then I get in the car and the alarm goes off, and then the remote works. Now I know its not the battery in the remote because I bought a new one and it still does the same thing. Also ever since this has happened with the keyless entry/alarm, when i go to start the car, sometimes it acts up... as if the starter were getting pulses of electricity instead of a constant flow when i turn the key. Any advice? Has anyone ever heard of a keyless entry/alarm going up in a car before? Also I have a red light on top of the steering wheel that blinks on and off when the alarm is on... i can press this button in, but i havent quite figured out what it does when i press it.... any help here also? thanks everyone

 

I don't know about your exact system but I do know about aftermarket systems and you might have got water or dirt into the remote and crossed a circuit or something........but in the least likely event you might have damage the reciever...

 

well my system isnt aftermarket, its stock, came from the ford factory. the remote works fine, its like the system just isnt getting the signal ... but when i set the alarm off, i hit the button on the remote and it recieves the signal... any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

sounds like you have a wiring issue to the main module....I would check that....if they had any t-taps or anything of the such that they use from the factory check to see that all are connected tightly.....and then check to see if any wires are lose or broken at the module and the assorted places they plug in....
