Clutch adjustment
My 90 GT mustang recently developed a problem that i believe has something to do with clutch adjustment. I can't get it into gear nor can I get it out of once it is in. I have looked for an adjuster under the dash and on the firewall with no luck. There has got to be an adjuster somewhere. Help please.

RE: Clutch adjustment
What happened was I was driving down the street, mild clutch and throttle playiny with a chevy s-10 and it quit working at the next stop light. Underneath the car? Next to the bellhousing??

RE: Clutch adjustment
Then there are a few things it may be....cable may be stretched/worn through nylon inner casing but more so then this if it's something that happened all of a sudden it may have a problem with the throw out bearing or the forks on the pressure plate may be damaged. it's hard to tell on something like this without being there to sit in the car and feel out the situation........but I'd perform a good visual of the system like cable,,where it attaches on both ends athe clutch fork and under dash at pedal assembly and take off the cover where the clutch fork is and shine a light in the bellhousing to examine throw out bearing.

RE: Clutch adjustment
no there's a release mechanizm for the clutch pedals up under the dash it's kind of at the top of the pedals by the ratcheting mechanism. it's hard to explain I usually reach underneath there and in a mater of seconds release it after doing a clutch job to set pedal freeplay
