I'm helping one of my nieghbors put his engine in his 84' and, he recently bought a msd box for it that he wants put in, he has a msd distributor,my question is, on the new msd billet distributor, the connector is diff. than the stock one where is used to plug in, how do u wire them together,? what needs to be changed, and how exactly does any body know how to wire in the 6al. i get the basics, its just the other 2 wires that i'm not sure where they go, it's different than the efi's, they just come with a harness and that is easy as pie,? any help is greatly appriciated.

do u use the magnetic pickup for the new msd distributor to the 6al and eliminate the hold harness that used to plug into the old stock distributor????

 

wait a min. i was just thinking, isn't the probillit distributor mag. pickup anyway, so that just plugs the dis. to the 6al box, and eliminate your stock harness that used to plug into the stock distributor??

 

yeah you should have the msd ignition box wired to 12v + and - and such, and also going to your tach. the plug from the dizzy goes to the msd ignition box and thats it. easy as pie
