Default Stock Intake?

I am having someone rebuild my motor. I was wondering if my stock intake would be sufficient for now till i come up with money to buy the TF intake.

Rebuild - $2,824.00
Cam (Steeda #19) - $199.95
GT40P Heads - $598.00

BBKLt's, BBK x-pipe, and Flows - around 800.

Also I wanna make sure the TF intake (model#?) will fit the GT40P's.

Thx. for all replies.

you are paying way too much money for a stock rebuild.

Way to expensive. You can buy a reman. long block with a 3 year unlimited mileage warr. for around 12-1500 bucks. If he hasnt done the work yet, dont let him do it.

Well the actuall rebuild is $2,224 but I have to have someone pull the engine ($600). Well I'm not too engine parts savvy but he said he is putting in SRP Forged pistons, R&R rods, all Fel-Pro gaskets and alot of other things (new time chain, bearings, etc....)

yea buddy, way too much. get the reman block or find another person. a shop would rebuild for almost that much. when i went to get mine done i was quoted by a shop 3k. but i had a friend do it for 1800, that includes rebuild kit andbreaks, cam install(really wouldnt have changed the cost any), fluid changes, clutch install, flywheel turned, rotors turned. i helped some too so maybe thats why it was slightly cheaper.

A stock intake will work but it will make better power with a better intake. I've seen write ups that a port matched Cobra intake performs just as well, and in many cases even better on mild builds for the street than some of the larger aftermarket manifolds. Another option to consider if price is an issue and you can get a Cobra intake for cheap
