Default 3.8 to 5.0 conversion question

im going to be helping my father in law change over a wore out 3.8 sixer to a fresh(stock) carbed 5.0. mostly for cruising and car shows(hes in his 60's) he said he wont be beating on it. that being said what do we need to make the 5 speed work out of the sixer car.? is it as easy as a bellhousing change? is the pilot bearing the same size?he was told that the bellhousing might even bolt up , is that true? i dont know ive only delt with 302's.it's in a 94 mustang.what about the gauges? is there anyway to make them work with out the computer?

Default RE: 3.8 to 5.0 conversion question

Trans will bolt right up.. gauges will work without the PCM, but you need to wire them yourself.. send me a PM when the time comes and i'll show you how to do it.. I did the exact same swap.
