temp help!!

Default temp help!!

so i picked up a 93 gt and they were runing it without a thermastat so i put a 180 in it but just now it climbed past half this is my first 5.0 is this still bad what should i do the water pump looks in good shape i need help oh and when i turned the lights on it went up some more dont know why that happend all the car has is headers full exhaust without cats and an air filter!!

next time you have the chance, just sit parked and hold it at like 1800rpm. if the temp goes down, you got air in the system.

burp the system.

take the rad cap off and start the car.
let it idle up to operating temp(could take up to a half hour for this to happen)
when the thermostat opens, the coolant level should drop down.
fill it up and stick the cap on.
done.

hows you antifreeze look? is it clean? and ya id say air is in you system.. fill up the radiator and hold the gas about 1-1200rpm u should see a air bubble or 2 come up to the top.. at the shop we have a machine for air bubbles in coolany systems and actually hold the thottle to about 2500 to get it up to temp quick and it dose a nice job..

the problem with that is when you let off the throttle, the coolant can burst out of the rad, as if you had just taken the cap off an overheating car.

deffently.. just sucks whe nya gotta sit for 30mins watchn ur gas go bye bye lol.. but ya the machines are deffently the way to go.. but some times getting it up to temp while in park can be a real pain
