well it depends on where you live... $350-$500 gears(4.10),$200 each slicks(m/t),$160 cai(bbk or mac),$500-$700 exhaust(bbk/flowmasters),$150-$200t/b(bbk),$150-$200 maf(c&l), and a good weight reduction should do the trick(freebe).. it could be more could be less just depends on where you live.. also ebay is a good place to get things such as the t/b,maf, and cai..

free stuff will help! P&P your heads yourself, remove the smog system, advance timing. Then go for gears, tires, and full exhaust.

Hey,
I have an 86GT almost stock and have learned that relacing the 2 1/4 pipes with 2 1/2 you will lose power on the low end because of the heads. Mine runs 14.84 in the 1/4 mile, with street tires, the car is real consistant but the driver, me, need some seat time. i would say try the gears first and do all the free stuff first.

i know a boy that had a 88gt with only gears (4.10) and slicks, and full exhaust. and he launched at 5000 and ran an 8.60 in the 1/8th. Thats well into the 13's. multipy that time by 1.565 to get approx. 1/4 mile time. Here : 8.60 * 1.565 = 13.459 You wont launch at 5000 too many times without breaking something thouhgh. I still think you could break into very high 13's without the exhaust. just do whatever your budget allows, get exhaust if you can
