Default bypass smog pump.

Im going to bypass the smog pump by getting a smaller belt. What size belt should I use around what size or how do I measure, I have A/c and power steering and pulleys? Is it bad the just bypass the pump, like will the pump freeze up. also how many ponys could I expect also. Im also going to bypass the egr lines also.

just take your belt off and then cut it to the size that you need so that it goes around all the pullies besides the smog and then take the belt to the nearest auto parts store have them measure it and get one that size.

Or use a string and then measure it. I would use an smog delete kit so that you can use the factory belt

Or just drive to the auto parts store and try a couple of belts in the parking lot.

Some say you dont get any hp. and its not worth the time to change the belt. I really want to know if you gain from it?

The biggest gain you get is the loss of weight

And not having to keep cleaning you TB and intake from all of that sh|t that the EGR introduces into the both of them.

Wait wait wait, you don't lose any weight with a short belt guys.. You only lose weight if you take the pump completely out.
