two problems / questions or w\e
alrighty first question is (Seeing as i am a dee dee dee when it comes to transmissions) if it sometimes grind going into second (while moving)and reverse (when at a complete stop) that would be the syncros? (sp?) if im right or what not. and if it is how much would they cost and would i be better putting them in myself or getting a pro to do it or just buying a whole new trans? second, my speedo accidently broke >.>.after i was doing a little over 85 the needle is just bouncing all over the place. so do i need a new gear or something? or new speedo?
2nd gear sounds like a syncro... reverse has no syncro... throw a forward gear 1st, and then reverse, prob solved... as for the rebuild, im in the very last stages of rebuilding mine... and honestly dude, i dont recomend you do it yourself, i suggest having a pro do it, or goin to ddperformance and buying a rebuilt one.
and the speedo thing, not sure... ive had mine to 140 w the 85 speedo and mine never broke, so i cant help you there

yea that was what i was doing with reverse i would put it in first gear try and slide it back sometimes it wouldnt go in. then i would roll it a little back and it would grind in. its weird [&:]
Grinding gears aren't always the syncros, it may just be that your clutch cable is outof adjustment. If your clutch grabs just off the florr, then it need adjusted. It should grab about half way up the travel of the pedal.
