RE: 7.5 rearend durability
I've heard the 7.5's are pretty tough but it's not recommended to use slicks with them.
After about 250hp, I would start to get nervous.
Where do you live that you can't find an 8.8 rearend?

RE: 7.5 rearend durability
while we are on the topic, i have an 8.8 rear end with about 3:93 or 4:10 gears not sure what teh previous guy put in them, but im was planning on putting some slicks on my car this summer and i have just about 200,000 miles on my car. How you think the rear end will hold up cause as of right now all my tires do is spin when i take off and i go nowhere.

Yeah I am sure it will.. They are very strong, a lot of people put some slicks on and take them to the track, even if they have been sitting for 10 years... Change the gear oil, add some additive for the posi, and let-er-rip!

Those are too wide...yet you may wat the carrier out of them as they're 31 spline, if it has Traction-Loc.

Check you junk yards for ford pickemup trucks, alot of those had the 8.8 as well.
