RE: how hard is it to run 10's all motor 331?
THANKS FOR THE REPLIES DOODZ!!
that clarified a lot for me, ok so running 10s will be hard with a small displacement 331.
but lets say i run a LOW BOOST vortech. say 5 or 6 PSI. with the combination of parts that i have now and this new list, what do yall think.
Vortech 5-6 PSI kit.
AFR 185
8.5:1 compression to handle boost
331 forged bottom end on sportsman block
holley systemax manifold
42 lb injectors
and the mods in my sig
is 10s now possible?
thanks for the help dudes.

most definately - remember though suspension, tires, and race weight are nearly as important as horsepower. I've seen 450 rwhp Cobra's run 13.5's and 280 rwhp GT's run 12.5's, all in putting it to the ground.

i know, i already have a full drag racing suspension now. i built it up for the future with the 331 vortech'd.
i just installed my pinion snubber and it kix ***!!!
notice a big difference in pull from a stand still..

With a stock 225hp engine?!?!?!....a fox mustang would have to be as light as 1500lbs. to run 11's........stock.

Obsol3te
Well, at least 9PSI through an S-trim, better yet get an Intercooled procharger, HP increases up to 85%!! Why would you bump the compression so low, and only boost 5 PSI? A stock 9.0:1 could handle that all day.
If you're going to have compression THAT low, why not run 15psi?

remember how i wanted to run twin turbo 331. well i am convinced i dont need a twin turbo to satisfy my power hunger, that is just way overkill.
but i am looking for 10's and want to know what is the minimum i will need besides what i have now to run 10s with a 331 stroker. take into account i am willing to reduce weight to.
i am also looking for this car to be a daily driver that gets no less than 15mpg. im sure this is possible with lots of weight reduction and a balanced assembly.
heres what im thinking,
AFR165
331 forged bottom end, balanced.
Holley systemax intake manifold
sick *** cam with retarded amounts of lift
all the other mods i have listed now are what i will be using.
also, 24 lbs injectors should be enough to handle 10s all motor i think.
lighter driveshaft and anything that can be made lighter i am willing to put money on it
i.e k-member, A-member etc...
can i hit 10s with this?
