Default engine sputtering

ok here is the story, i have a 94 mustang gt 5.0 and it kept stalling out when it got hot. i took it in and replaced the coil with a msd one and replaced the main computer and it was still stalling. so we put a pick up coil in it and now it is sputtering all the time but does not stall out anymore. any ideas what it may be?

its not the coil, its more than likely the TFI module.

i will try to find a pick right quick of my car with it so i can circle it for you and post it. in the meantime read this that i wrote up for someone not long ago.

OK I KNOW I FAILED KINDERGARDEN BUT THIS IS THE QUICKEST I COULD DO THIS

with your multimeter you will conect the neg on one connector and the positive on the other and no it doesnt matter which one is on which as long as the connectors are correct per the following chart

RED= GRND (GROUND)
YELLOW=PIP PWR
BLUE=PIP IN
1 PIN= PIP
2 PIN= SPOUT
3 PIN= START
4 PIN=TFI POWER
5 PIN= TACH
6 PIN= IGN. GRND

ok now that thats all established set your multimeter to ohms and test as follows.........
GRND to PIP IN should read greater than 500 ohms
PIP PWR to PIP IN should read less than 2000 ohms
PIP PWR to TFI PWR should read less than 200 ohms
GRND to IGN. GRND should read less than 2 ohms
PIP IN to PIP should read less than 200 ohms

if any of these readings arent as stated above then your control module is bad, if they are all good then you prolly have a bad stator
