T-Top Question.
Hey Guys, I'm kinda new here and I just had a question. I'm in the market for a 5L. Recently one has come up that is in decent shape and is a T-Top. I was just wondering how much chassis strengthening I would have to do to make it just as stiff as a hardtop, and handle some extra power? Or if it would just be better towait andgowitha hardtop.
Thanks.
Thanks.
My old 86 had T-Tops...and nothing to stiffen the chasis....
I had small dents on the roof behind the T-Tops on both sides (in the same spot) from the car flexing....
Is the car weaker...yes Will some chasis stiffening rememdy the problem....yes
Go with the T-Tops....they were GREAT! Just make sure that the first thing that you do is get a set of subframe connectors on there...UPR makes a great set

they are a bit weaker, luckily mine was a v6 before hand, so she is straight, not running, but straight...
anyhoo, if you invest in some subframes, a strut tower brace, and maybe a 6 pt cage and k-member brace, then you should be fine with flex
