Ok so its a fresh 306 with stock compression ratio and stock heads, cam, and internals.... just all new. I have BBK cold air intake, BBK shorty headers, straight exhaust with no cats into flowmaster mufflers, timing is at 14 degrees, BBK adjustable FPR, pressure is set at 35 psi, Cobra intake, 24# injectors, C&L MAF with bluesample tube,TPS is set dead on .99v with KOEO, and a 70 mm edlebrock TB. It starts and like a champbut when its cold the idle surges and sometimes shuts off also when you hit the gas it hesitates for a split second then revs but if you rev it to 2k then hit it again the RPMs FLY up,Also if you rev it to 5k it pops out of the exhaust when itssettling back down. I was always taught that popping out of the exhaust means its running lean??? Is this correct? Please help me, I am trying to get this thing finished....

I just went to drive it... when you hit the gas, in first it consistantly pops and there is a deffinate miss.... The motor has all new plugs, wire, rotor, TFI module and Coil.

Is your fuel pressure 35psi with the vac off or on?Sounds like a ignition problem.

I just found the problem.... it was so stupid I dont even want to admit it...
I bought FRPP wires... for those of you that have them you know they are numbered. I had #5 and #6 crossed up. It runs like a scalded dog now.

Yea I mixed up 2 plug wires once too, scared me soo bad. Sounded like somebody was smacking the inside of the motor with a hammer[:@]
